Dr. Darren Surma

Dr. Surma earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree as a Magna Cum Laude Honors graduate in 2002 from Life University and has been serving the community of Woodstock, Towne Lake and Cherokee County for over 15 years.

Originally from Winnipeg, Canada, Dr. Surma completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Winnipeg prior to moving to Atlanta in 1998.  During his time at Life University, Dr. Surma studied various adjusting techniques that are designed to be tailored to the individual patient’s specific needs.

He was on the Dean’s List for academic achievement and served as Assistant Captain of Life University’s Ice-Hockey Team. While serving as Assistant Captain, Dr. Surma won three ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association) National Ice-Hockey Championships. He continues to play competitive hockey at a high level and was Assistant Coach and Team Chiropractor for the Kennesaw State University Ice Hockey Program from 2007-2013.

Upon graduating and starting practice, Dr. Surma earned his certification in prenatal care from the ICPA (International Chiropractic Pediatric Association) and completed the 2 year intensive course work for full certification in pediatrics through the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics.

Other areas of study include the PEAK Performance Certification from Life University’s Athletic Care Program and FMT (Functional Movement Technique) Certification from RockTape in IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft-Tissue Mobilization).  Dr. Surma also became certified in PT (physiological therapeutics) through Life University’s Sport Health Science Department.
